A bright clear light gold that could indicate unoaked or oaked Chardonnay. In this case, it is oaked as attested to by the nose with its sweet butterscotch aromatics with hints of freshly cut lumber. Fruity undertones of peach, granny smith apple and lemon-lime will emerge as the wine settles in the bottle. The mouthfeel is light and elegant with moderately intense flavours of citrus, apricot and vanilla. The overall impression is of a very elegant and balanced Chardonnay. Although three types of oak barrels were used to make this wine, the wood flavours enhance the fruit without dominating. The result is an attractive cooler climate Chardonnay.
Try with garlic shrimp with avocado, lobster (a traditional match), pasta with oil and garlic or a luscious, runny Brie. It will also go well with grilled chicken, veal or tilapia.
Should drink well until 2011 if you can stand the wait!
