This dry, red wine is amazingly complex with aromas of ripe black cherries, dark plums, cigar box, tobacco, dark chocolate and sweet vanilla. On the palate, the body is quite full with tannins that are present yet ripe. The flavours continue to evolve on the palate with chocolate covered marachino cherries, dried tobacco leaves, cedar and a wonderful touch of spice on the lengthy finish. With just a touch of oak, this wine nicely balances the spicy oak characteristics with the ripe fruit notes characteristic of the 2007 vintage. This wine would be a great match with wine-braised beef, lamb stew and aged, hard cheeses such as Parmesan or Asiago. This wine can be drunk now but will continue to develop in the bottle for up to 8 years. Serve at cellar temperature.
