We have been producing Riesling wines from this vineyard site since its first crop in 1988, and some lovely and long-lived wines have resulted. The severely reduced crop, attention to the smallest detail of viticulture on a vine by vine basis, a growing season that was cooler - favoring the Riesling grpae, and the contribution that only fully mature vines can provide, have combined to give us the winemaking basis for the best Riesling yet produced by Henry of Pelham. The greatest wines usually employ the most simple of winemaking techniques, in this case a cool fermentation, very limited and gentle handling, and some maturation in bottle. Willa age for 8 to 12 years from vintage.

Made from grapes grown on the oldest Riesling vines of the Henry of Pelham vineyards.

Food matches: The brininess of shrimp, scallops, mussels and clams are great with this wine. Roast pork as well as pasta with white sauce.
