2007 Riesling, Reserve, Off-Dry VQA
Short Hills Bench
750mL
DESCRIPTION
Some residual sweetness is maintained despite crisp acidity and structure by stopping the
fermentation early. Flavours of citrus, grapefruit and zesty lemon. The high level of acid
balances and enlivens the sweetness of fruit and body in this truly Kabinett/Spatlese style of wine.
Will age 10 plus years.

REVIEWS / AWARDS
“Love the regular Pelham Dry, but this Off-Dry shows a lingering lushness from late-harvested
grapes. Aromas and flavours of beeswax, lime and cling peaches with a hint of clementines.
Ripe summer peach comes to the fore on the finish. Think turkey or glazed ham, but also sweet
potatoes due to this winner’s natural sugars.” Rating 89

“Caution! If you’re not already acquainted with sharp, German-styled Riesling, this wine may
scare you. It has shocking acidity, which may cause you to describe the wine as tart until the
subtly sweet peach fruit moves across your palate, balancing the wine and tugging your taste
buds for more. This is the kind of wine that tastes cold even at room temperature and is
especially at home at the dinner table. Henry of Pelham is focused on vinifera grape varieties
best suited to cool climates. They do it right.
