2007 VIEW Pinot Noir
This Pinot Noir from a superb vintage shows a beautiful ruby colour with medium intensity; the nose is fresh with ripe black cherry notes mixed with raspberry, strawberry, vanilla, tobacco and that wonderful leathery aromatic that typifies Pinot Noir.
It is medium in body and shows wonderful balance and elegance. The fruit is ripe, the tannins refined and the flavours complex. Bottled in August, 2008 it should be cellared for at least six months to allow the fruit and tannin to blend and then enjoyed through the end of 2010 - if you can keep it that long.
Try it with red and white meat dishes, especially those with mushrooms or truffles (truffle oil makes a good substitute for the real thing).
